Setting up the Wi-Fi connection was a little confusing, but on my third try I succeeded. Most of the problem was me not following directions properly. I was upgrading from a 6 year old Samsung 50" DPL, the difference in the picture quality was tremendous. Right out of the box, without any adjustments, the picture looked good. However after watching for a few hours I noticed some scenes seemed a little washed out and others seemed a little over saturated.
There are a total of 41 adjustments you can make to the picture quality. I made a few tweaks, and oh my lord, the picture was terrible, I totally screwed it up. Sharp does offer dedicated AQUOS advisors to assist and help you by phone and through Wi-Fi. Instead I decided to try to find the proper settings on-line. I went to the [...] and found a lively discussion about this TV's immediate predecessor the 640U. (my set the 650U had just been released) Sure enough someone had posted a complete set of tweaks.

As to the SMART features, NetFlix and Hulu Plus are very good. When I first tried to log on to NetFlix a message on the screen told be to upgrade the firmware, I clicked a button or two and within 5 minutes the firmware was up-to-date and NetFlix was working. I can't say much for the included games or for the Browser, and the other Apps are OK. I do wish they had an Amazon App for viewing Prime movies.
The remote is OK, nothing special, the keys are a little cramped and it is not back-lit. I use a Harmony One so a lackluster remote is not a big concern. All in all I would make this purchase again. Right out of the box, Sports looked great, but all of our usual shows and movies looked very strange. Upon Googling the "Soap Opera Effect," I found plenty of info on how to correct it, but when turning off the Motion Enhancement didn't do anything, I was pretty worried. I was almost ready to return the TV, but after playing around a little more with the settings.
I discovered the above, and now everything looks AMAZING! We have it set on Standard Mode, and with the above adjustments, movies look like you're in the theater and basketball looks like you're IN the arena!
